Liverpool rally to eliminate Leicester City from Carabao Cup

Liverpool came from behind to beat Leicester City 3-1 at Anfield on Wednesday night to reach the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.

Kasey McAteer put the visitors ahead in the third minute, but Liverpool equalised through Cody Gakpo just before half-time. Dominik Szoboszlai then gave Liverpool the lead in the 70th minute with a superb strike from 20 yards, and Diogo Jota sealed the win with a third goal in the 85th minute.

The win was a welcome return to form for Liverpool, who had lost their previous two games in all competitions. It was also a good night for Jurgen Klopp, who was able to rotate his squad and give some of his fringe players a chance to shine.

Gakpo, who was making his full debut for Liverpool, impressed with his goal and overall performance. Szoboszlai also put in a good shift, and Jota was clinical in front of goal.

Liverpool will now face Manchester United in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup on October 25th.
